đź›’ Nearwala: The AI App Helping Local Shops Take On E-Commerce Giants

In the heart of Bengaluru, a young startup is quietly rewriting the rules of Indian retail. Nearwala, launched in 2024, is India’s first AI-driven local shopping app that empowers kirana stores and small retailers to compete with the might of e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
The app uses AI to create real-time offers, flash sales, and personalized deals—allowing shopkeepers to attract footfall without slashing margins. Customers benefit from instant savings, cashback through N-Coins, and a seamless shopping experience via QR-code checkouts.
With 2 lakh+ users and over 2,000 retailers already on board, Nearwala is live in cities like Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore. The startup has also raised ₹2.5 Cr and plans to expand to 50+ cities, focusing especially on tier-2 and tier-3 markets.
In a market dominated by rapid deliveries and big budgets, Nearwala proves that local stores can still win — with the right tech in their hands.
