In the heart of Bengaluru, a young startup is quietly rewriting the rules of Indian retail. Nearwala, launched in 2024, is India’s first AI-driven local shopping app that empowers kirana stores and small retailers to compete with the might of e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
The app uses AI to create real-time offers, flash sales, and personalized deals—allowing shopkeepers to attract footfall without slashing margins. Customers benefit from instant savings, cashback through N-Coins, and a seamless shopping experience via QR-code checkouts.
With 2 lakh+ users and over 2,000 retailers already on board, Nearwala is live in cities like Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore. The startup has also raised â‚ą2.5 Cr and plans to expand to 50+ cities, focusing especially on tier-2 and tier-3 markets.
In a market dominated by rapid deliveries and big budgets, Nearwala proves that local stores can still win — with the right tech in their hands.
